General Studies 1 (General Overview) ? 2 (Development) ? 3 (Detailed Discussion)
General studies is a lecture comprising three parts with the objective of systematically creating a theoretical base for research relating to media expression research and production activities in the master’s course. Firstly, in General Studies 1 (General Overview), an integrated theoretical framework is presented consisting of three main perspectives: art theory, technology theory, and media theory. This framework is consistently used throughout the following General Studies 2 (Development), and General Studies 3 (Detailed Discussion) courses. In General Studies 2 (Development), we examine in further detail these theoretical frameworks concepts, and make their interrelationships clear. In General Studies 3 (Detailed Discussion), using this theoretical framework as a foundation we will discuss concrete examples, and students will compare the theoretical frameworks they have learned alongside their individual research and production activities. This lecture aims to establish an original theoretical perspective.
